Mersea Island School Team A & B had a brilliant result at the Lexden Cup final round.
Going into round three, Mersea A were sitting in the leaders seat with only a match against Stanway A left to play before the playoff round.
The A team of George, Daniel, Matilda and India showed why they were selected for this team, winning all four games 44 - 8 to leave them in the playoff for 1st and 2nd.

The B team consisting of Sid, Felix, Keira and Alice started the day in third place but after taking on Stanway B and winning 36 - 17 they booked themselves into the 1st and 2nd playoff match with non-other than their team mates Mersea A.

Alice had her first taste of competition today standing in for Millie who sadly was ill, Felix standing in for Jack who was away. The teams have all been very supportive of each other.

With some friendly rivalry Mersea B gamely tried to defeat Mersea A taking more points from Mersea A than any other school in the competition 44 - 17, but Mersea B should be proud of their runner up position. Mersea A taking the trophy for the second year on the trot. George, Daniel and Matilda were unbeaten throughout the three days of the tournament.

During the presentation Matilda was given a special "Sportsmanship Award" for her talent as well as manners on the court towards her opponents. Matilda received a whole terms squash tuition at Lexden Squash Club for the summer term.

Well done to you all, Team Mersea.
