Round two of the Lexden Cup saw eight schools vying for the spoils with the late addition of Elmstead who having missed round one are playing for experience only in rounds two and three by playing the other schools in friendly competition.

Mersea A team consisting of Henry, George, Amelie and Ruby again took full marks against Langenhoe B 44/2, Elmstead 44/7 and Stanway A 44/4 having now dropped only 21 points between the four players over both rounds.

Mersea B team: Aidan, Harrison, Charlotte, Angel and Beatrice played Elmstead, Tiptree and Langenhoe A with wins of 44/23, 42/27 and 44/9 in a great show of squash to stay in second place behind Mersea A.

With the top two teams at the end of round three earning themselves a place in the Essex School Games to be held 19th January 2018 at Colchester Garrison, Mersea A & B team are both looking in a good position with one round left to play.

A special mention for Harrison should be made who showed the best sportsmanship of the day and fair play towards other teams, he is a credit to himself and to the school.
