Two grand prix wins at GP 2

Grand Prix number two of the 2017/2018 series got underway with huge numbers attending and the venue switching from Lexden to the Garrison in order to accommodate the rise in numbers. A record 53 competitors fought it out for top spoils in 11 different boy and girl age groups.

Ruby in year 6 took home the girls Year 6/8 and under section winning all the matches in her group, a very strong finisher battling back from one all in games and 9-3 down to win the final match 2-1.

George took home the win in the boys year six and under group 2 winning all his matches in great style, Aidan claiming 2nd position and Stanley 3rd in a strong field, all played in great sporting spirit, as Mersea players have become renowned for.

Henry won all but one match to take runner up in the boys year 6 and under group 1 section just ahead of Harrison with a strong 3rd place finish.

Currently in the GP standings after two events:

With such great positions so early in the grand prix season, it can only look extremely promising for Mersea players.
