A great start to the new school year

We have had a fantastic start to the new school year.  Pupils across the school have been engaged in a wide variety of exciting learning activities.  There has been cooking, painting, crafts, visits to the beach and a Samba drumming workshop, to name but a few of the activities celebrated by the pupils in assembly on Friday.  We have been very lucky to have had a number of keen volunteers helping support the children in Years 2 and 3 with both classroom based learning and a visit to the beach.  Mr Thomas has already 'hit the ground running', with cross-curricular writing focused sessions for some of the children in Year 5.  Year 6 have had a very exciting week with the election of the new Ship Captains, their efforts in preparation for these have been very impressive.
It has been a real pleasure to witness the manners and exemplary behaviour within and around the school this week - well done everyone!
We look forward to welcoming our new Early Years pupils over the next two weeks.

A carnival celebration to start the year!
